What does managed Jitsi Meet hosting include?
The complete stack deployed and hardened on a Cube dedicated to it: the web front end, Prosody for signaling, Jicofo for conference focus and the Jitsi Videobridge moving the media. TLS on your domain, UDP media ports opened correctly, and daily snapshots behind it. You get a meeting link that just works in any browser.
Why does Jitsi need the whole server?
Video is a real-time workload: the videobridge is sensitive to CPU scheduling and network jitter in a way ordinary web apps are not. A neighbor app spiking the CPU turns into frozen video for everyone on the call. Dedicating the VM is not a limitation, it is the difference between meetings that work and meetings that stutter.
How many participants fit on my plan?
Bandwidth and CPU on the videobridge are the levers. The 4 GB floor carries everyday team meetings comfortably; larger rooms and multiple simultaneous conferences want more CPU, and resizing is minutes from the client area. Real usage tells you quickly, and snapshots make experimenting safe.

Do guests need accounts to join?
No. You share a link and they join from the browser, no app, no signup. Meeting creation can be restricted to authenticated hosts so strangers cannot start rooms on your server.
Does it work on phones?
Yes: mobile browsers work for most cases, and the official Jitsi Meet apps on iOS and Android connect to your server by entering your domain.
Can I record meetings?
Yes, with Jibri configured for recording or streaming; recordings land on your disk, not a vendor's cloud. It is CPU-hungry, so tell us and we will size the server for it, or add it later after a resize.
Is this really private?
Media flows through your videobridge and signaling through your Prosody, on your VPS. No third-party conferencing cloud sees your meetings; your compliance story is your server.
Is this Jitsi Meet on a VPS or shared hosting?
A dedicated VPS, and for Jitsi that distinction is the product: your own private server with dedicated, non-oversold resources, its own IP, and nothing else running beside the meeting stack.
Can I run other apps on the same server?
No, and that is deliberate. Jitsi Meet needs exclusive access to the VM: real-time workloads do not tolerate neighbors competing for CPU and network timing. Other tools go on a second Cube, managed from the same client area and bill.
Do you migrate my existing Jitsi?

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

What about firewalls and corporate networks?
Jitsi falls back to TCP 443 when strict networks block UDP media, so participants behind corporate firewalls still join; call quality is best where UDP flows, which our port setup gets right from day one.
