  • 500% SLA
  • 30-day money-back
  • Free Daily Snapshots
  • Firewall & IDS

What it is

Apache Guacamole is the clientless remote-access gateway: your office PC, servers, and client machines reachable over RDP, VNC, and SSH from any browser, with nothing to install on the connecting side. One login, per-user permissions, optional session recording.

Minimum RAM

1 GB

Fits on SC-1GB; SC-2GB is the comfortable pick with room to stack.

What we install

Our playbook deploys the official stack (guacd, the web app, and its PostgreSQL) behind the server's HTTPS front at your guac subdomain, with the default admin locked to credentials from your handover email and recording storage prepared.

Every plan includes

Instant hostname with TLS, database created and wired, daily snapshots, firewall and IDS. Add Fully Managed anytime and our engineers run the whole server for you.

Why here

Why run Apache Guacamole on RemarkableCloud.

Your own private VPS

Not a container on a shared box. A real virtual server with dedicated resources and your own IP, and nobody else on it.

Stack apps, one price

Add as many apps as fit on your server from the client area, in one click each. No per-app charge, ever.

A 500% SLA that pays

1 hour down = 5 hours credited back, automatically, from the first minute. While others credit after thresholds, we credit from minute one.

Non-oversold hardware

Enterprise dedicated infrastructure, 100% NVMe, resources never sold twice. Your Apache Guacamole performs the same on the worst day as the best.

Humans since 2001

Real engineers answer, at any hour. Twenty-five years of running production servers, and no chatbot wall between you and them.

Free migration, done by us

Moving an existing Apache Guacamole site? We migrate it, verify it, and hand it back running, at no cost. Your old host stays live until you approve.

Built for

What people run on a Apache Guacamole VPS here.

RDP and SSH from a browser

Every server and desktop you manage, reachable from any machine with a tab, no client installs.

A bastion with an audit trail

One controlled door to your fleet, with session recording where policy needs it.

Vendor and contractor access

Grant a connection, not credentials: scoped, time-bound, revocable in one click.

Rescuing machines behind NAT

Pair with WireGuard and reach boxes that have no public address at all.

The details

Apache Guacamole here, in plain words.

What does 'use my PC from anywhere' actually look like?

Your computer stays at the office with all its software and files. From a hotel laptop or a tablet you open your guac subdomain, log in, and the desktop is there in the tab: the session runs browser to your Cube to your machine, with no third-party relay in the middle and nothing to install on either end.

My PC is behind home or office NAT. How does Guacamole reach it?

The gateway needs a route to the machine. The clean answer is WireGuard from our catalog on the same Cube: your PC keeps an outbound tunnel to the server, no ports opened at home, and Guacamole connects across it. Port forwarding works too if you control the router; the tunnel is the tidier habit.

Why this instead of TeamViewer or AnyDesk?

No third-party cloud sees your session, no per-seat subscription grows with your team, and it works on locked-down machines where remote-support agents are banned but RDP is allowed. For agencies, one Guacamole with per-user permissions to every client machine, plus session recording, is a compliance feature the SaaS tools price as enterprise.

How much server does it need?

1 GB runs the gateway for personal and small-team use; sessions are proxied, not rendered here, so the Cube stays light. Turn on recording for many concurrent sessions and disk becomes the resource to watch, which the included 2x-disk S3 backup space absorbs gracefully.

How it works

Seven systems working so you do not.

Every managed server runs the same stack underneath. Pick a system to see what it actually does.

Issues end before you hear about them.

Every minute, we check more than 200 parameters of your server and its services: web server, database, mail, disk, memory, and the network path to it. The moment anything drifts out of range, our support staff is alerted, investigates, and fixes it.

This is internal monitoring, deeper than any public uptime check: it watches the inside of your server, not just whether it answers. Most incidents are found and fixed by our staff before anyone outside ever notices them.

  • 200+ parameters checked every minute
  • Alerts reach engineers, not ticket queues
  • Inside-the-server checks, not just ping
  • Humans respond in minutes, any hour

Frequently asked questions

Does Guacamole work with Windows, Mac, and Linux targets?

Windows over RDP natively, Linux over SSH or VNC, and Mac over VNC with screen sharing enabled. The connecting side needs only a browser, which is the whole point of clientless.

Can I give each team member different machines?

Yes: per-user and per-group permissions on every connection are core Guacamole, and admin actions are audited. One gateway serves the whole team with each person seeing only their machines.

What does Guacamole hosting cost?

The app is $0 and open source under Apache 2.0; a 1 GB server starts at $4.17/mo on annual billing and runs it with headroom, management and backups optional. No per-user fees ever.

Which protocols does it speak?

RDP, SSH, VNC and Telnet, brokered by guacd and rendered in the browser. Windows desktops and Linux servers side by side in one connection list.

Is browser-based remote desktop responsive enough?

For administration and office work, yes, comfortably; it is not a video-editing link. Your server's location matters more than the protocol, so pick the region near the machines.

Is this Apache Guacamole on a VPS or on shared hosting?

A VPS. Apache Guacamole runs on your own private virtual server with dedicated, non-oversold resources and its own IP. You get real isolation and performance, with the setup, TLS and hardening handled for you.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. Add any other catalog app to this server from your client area, one click each, no per-app charge. How much fits is a question of RAM, and resizing is minutes.

Do you migrate my existing Apache Guacamole?

Yes, migration help is free. Open a ticket with access to the current setup and we move it, verify it, and hand it back running. Nothing switches until you approve.

Can I upgrade or downgrade the plan later?

Anytime. Plans resize from the client area in minutes, annual billing keeps its flat 17% discount at every size, and there is never a fee to change tiers.

Sizing an app stack? The VPS sizing calculator recommends a plan from your apps and traffic, with the math shown.
